Summer 2007 Colorways
While we’re still basking in the glow of our first season of 100% organic cotton baby carriers, the second season is upon us. As an aside, one of the strangest sensations is that, in design and production, my mind is always 2-3 seasons ahead. It can be disorienting. I first heard of this phenomenon when my husband mentioned that REI executives will sometimes get confused during conversations as to what year it is.
I don’t intend to maintain quarterly colorway introductions, but while we’re transitioning our line entirely to sustainable materials I need to keep up with old colorways that are selling out. Ultimately, I think that 2 seasons yearly will feel fresh enough to our customers. Any differences of opinion out there?
On to the good stuff. Our summer introductions are focused primarily on prints that are similar to previous prints that have done well for us and that our customers weren’t ready to let go of. The exception is one of our panel prints (the Mei Tai and Mei Hip share the same colorways and embellishments, and I call them panels), London:

I pulled the colors (chocolate, plum, lilac, and green) straight from the fashion forecasts. It’s a really nice embroidered panel, but still subdued enough to wear with almost anything.
The other Summer panel is Hershey:

This is our third iteration of a pink and black stripe, which has been so popular with our customers. It’s the same stripe pattern as our Pismo, from the Spring Colorways. A free Ellaroo baby carrier (of your choice) to the first person who can tell me what other baby carrier company makes the same stripe pattern (in the Pismo colorway). The exact same stripes.
Our summer Ring Slings are embroidered (Brasília) and appliquéd (Malay). Both embellishments are new to us this season, and we’re hoping you’ll all appreciate them as much as we do. They’re gorgeous!

So there you have it. Another full range of 100% organic cotton baby carriers. I’m still giddy over that.
